Here we have a nicely presented 4" scale Foster Traction Engine. Built in 2006, with a professional steel boiler (all original plate certificates included), this is a solidly built and ready to rally machine. We had this one Re-tubed around 4 years ago when we last had her in stock, and so she's currently got about 6 years left on her last 10 year hydraulic. We re-built the top and bottom end at that point so that everything was nice, tight and smooth and ready for a fresh life on the rally field, and all still seems to be well!
All the usual bits and bobs are there, crank pump and injector to get the water in, and a water lifter to fill up the tank. Mechanical lubricator on top of the cylinder and she's fitted with nicely done rubber strakes that enable to engine to retain it's agricultural feel, whilst being comfy to use in anger on the road. This isn't a 'new' engine, so expect tidy rather than immaculate in terms of the paint finish.
Fully road registered with it's own V5 log book, she can come of course with a fresh steam certificate ready to rally.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
